Dover Yoga and Dover Pilates have decided to sponsor a child at Bal Ashram in India. Bal Ashram is an orphanage that takes in children who are living in poverty in Varanasi who have lost either one or both parents. They receive housing, healthcare, education, food, and happiness. Just $500 will pay to educate a child for an entire year. As a community we have decided to sponsor two children (one is being sponsored through Dover Yoga/Dover Pilates members and one through our teacher training program), The more that we can generate the more that we can help. 

The older boy is named Vikash, and the younger boy is Sohum… Vikash, who is 16 yrs old, speaks English well and will be emailing us regularly. Sohum, not so computer savvy (he’s only 6yrs!) will be helped by Vikash to send us letters via email.   Should you be going to India you are welcome to go visit the orphanage, as well as volunteer there. We hope to organize a trip to Varanasi to volunteer for several weeks in December of 2008.
