ashtanga
I, ashtanga II & ashtanga
flow
is a
vigorous form of yoga that focuses on realigning the body through a flowing
sequence of postures connected by breath, gaze, and internal
body locks. This form of yoga produces a cleansing and purifying
sweat, leaving the body light and detoxified and the mind calm and relaxed. Ashtanga
flow deviates from the traditional sequence and mixes in fun asanas and
interesting flows. Classes are appropriate for those who seek a physical
challenge in their yoga practice. Ashtanga I is based off the classical
primary series, Ashtanga II focuses more on the classical second series, Short
Forms is a shortened format of Primary Series.
forrest
yoga
is a system of Yoga developed by Ana Forrest which is attuned to the physical
and spiritual needs of modern people. Our 21st century way of life demanding
long hours of driving, keyboarding and other sedentary tasks is addressed in
Forrest Yoga. The shoulders and neck receive special attention along with
abdominal work to strengthen and heal the lower back. Correct physical alignment
promotes safety and longer posture-holding times provide an arena where students
can learn to focus internally and work energetically. Over time this practice
can bring aliveness to shutdown areas of the body and promote emotional healing.
In Forrest Yoga we seek our personal truth and learn to live according to our
own inner authority.

rasa satsang
Are you
interested in deepening your practice beyond the physical asanas? Perhaps
you would like to learn more about the different chakras relate. And can
pranayama really deepen our physical and spiritual connections? What are the
nine rasas anyway? Why do we chant? How can mudras transform our practice?
Join us for a warm cup of tea at Tranquilities the first Sunday of every
month as we discuss these topics and many more.
rasa
yoga
is a style of yoga unique to Dover Yoga which focuses on weaving one of the
nine major rasas, or “juices” that sustain our life, through an entire
flowing yoga class. The nine rasas this class explores are: shringara:

fear, hasya: joy, raudra: anger, karuna: sadness, & adbhuta: wonder.

meditation, cleansing kriyas and asana flows grounded in the chakra system.
Students often remark that these fun classes are complete in nature and
leave the body expanded and the mind grounded.
rasa
I:
This class is perfect for the practitioner looking for a gentle class.
Class opens with philosophy, discussion, pranayama/cleansing kriyas and
setting of intention. Once our minds are opened we will invite our
bodies to journey into the same expansion and we will find our way into our
asana flow, moving from spine and hip warming exercises, into gentle sun
salutes which will blend some additional asanas that benefit our body and
open our chakras. Class will finish with a seated meditation before
moving into deep relaxation and savasana. Appropriate for all
practitioners, especially those seeking a gentler practice.
J
rasa
II:
The perfect blend between Rasa I & III this class is perfect for the
practitioner seeking the balance between dynamic flow and stillness.
Class opens with philosophy and discussion, which often incorporates
pranayama, cleansing kriyas, & meditation. After setting our intention we
will journey into our classic rasa sun salute series and weave various yoga
asanas such as standing postures, twists, and seated postures into the
continuous flow. If time allows class will finish with meditation. Class is
taught in a multi-level format with variations being offered on most
postures.
J
rasa
III:
This class is geared toward the practitioner looking for a more
challenging practice. Class opens with philosophy and discussion and
intention setting. Following our opening we will move into a vigorous asana
flow that incorporates cleansing kriyas, advanced twists, core work, arm
balances, and inversions. The class is taught in a multi level format where
you are invited but never required to try more challenging postures and
simpler variations are always offered.
restorative yoga "Active
Relaxation"
Restorative Yoga focuses
on relaxing the body in restful postures. Note that 'rest' is different than
sleep. Rest provides the body an opportunity to renew and heal. Specifically
designed for when you feel fatigued, weak or stressed out from daily life;
restorative yoga poses, are also useful to practice when you are sick,
injured or recovering from childbirth.
The props used while practicing the various restorative yoga poses are
designed to provide support and be conducive to total relaxation. Great for
those who seek deep relaxation, de-stressing, a contemplative practice, a
way to manage chronic illnesses, limited range of motion and those who want
to develop their awareness of subtle energy or prana.

come to class early at 8:30am and practice twenty minutes of seated, guided,
group meditation. All levels of meditators welcomed. Meditation will stop
ten minutes before class – feel free to stay for the hatha flow class or
